RICE KRISPIES TREATS BECAME A STAPLE AT CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. Cultivated there for millennia, African rice became (and still is) a principal dietary staple of West Africa.
